The Fire Beneath the Ashes

In the hushed corridors of an international matrix organization where laughter is scarce and everything is logged in Excel spreadsheets, a young recruit named Isis is starting her first day. She is lively, warm, and her charisma wins everyone over. She doesn't play the seductress; she simply lives. The Director of Innovation, Hephaestus, a brilliant but closed-off man, watches her with suspicion. He sees the way others look at her and finds her "too tactile" and "bubbly."
After a quarter, Isis proposes a creative workshop: "Let’s light the fire. Let’s invent something crazy." Ideas start flying, bodies relax. The team is transformed. A new energy bursts forth. Stalled projects restart.
Then some complain about it. "She disrupts the order." "She has no filter." Others are jealous of her youth and her pure, innocent light. The HR Director, as dry as a bone, summons her: "Miss, your behavior... is disruptive." Isis replies calmly: "I only showed the joy of being alive. Perhaps that is what is unsettling."
She is let go, the team falls back into a torpor, and the figures take over again, sadly and without any real soul or progress. Since then, every year, on the same date, the former colleagues meet in a clearing, in secret. They light a fire. And they sing, laugh, and dance. Some love each other, without shame.
