The Master of the Living

In Celtic imagination, Cernunnos is the lord of the woods, the beasts, and the cycles. He is the god of the untamed living: he who regulates without imposing.
He is often depicted:
- seated cross-legged, like a sage or a yogi,
- with antlers, a symbol of growth and renewal,
- holding a torque (a collar of power or fertility),
- accompanied by animals, not in dominance, but in presence.
He does not command. He accompanies.
